When I first came across the Gentle Breath Meditation™ at the Universal Medicine presentations and courses in 2007, I could not get into it. I’d tried many different styles of meditation and always felt like I was going through the motions and would either fall asleep or feel agitated at the end of it (now that’s quite an oxymoron!). I was always the one in a group that ‘didn’t get it’ when everyone else was having what sounded like amazing experiences during their meditation. Continue reading “Be Gentle – What??!!”

Revelations from a Book Fair
I was recently manning my partner’s book stall for him at a local book fair. This was new for me. I have viewed it from the other side as a customer, but not taken the responsibility of selling the books.
I was nervous. I liked the idea but when it got to the day the practicality of it and my ability to do it daunted me somewhat, and when I got there I felt like a fish out of water. The long hours of the day stretched out before me and I wondered if I was going to be able to sustain it. Continue reading “Revelations from a Book Fair”
Feeling Our Way Through the Static Fog of Life
Our current norm as a global society is one where we are virtually saturated with a kind of static haze of ideals, beliefs and distractions that cloud our ability to see the underlying truth of any given situation that we encounter. Now, this is not a new phenomenon, as for thousands of years we have had various institutions, from religious, scientific to educational and even the current entertainment industry, telling us what the nature of our reality is here on Earth, what we should believe in and why, and lulling us into a false sense of contentment by the myriad of entertaining allurements that are literally available by the touch of a button. All adding to the ‘fog’ that keeps us from the Truth, albeit a cloud that all of humanity must take responsibility for creating and contributing to on a continual basis. The Prison of Conditions
After recently volunteering to work as a mentor for children coming from challenging life situations (which involved a comprehensive interview process to determine a good match between the mentor and child), it was relayed to me that many previous mentors were not willing to work with kids who had poor manners or were not as polite as it was thought they should be. Being an Individual or a Life of Love?
I was very much focussed on being exclusively individual before I came to study and be a student of Universal Medicine. All I cared about was myself. I wasted money while not caring about anyone else. Now my life has completely turned around to one that is re-learning to be a life of love; one that is developing to be deeply loving, deeply caring of myself and humanity… a truly joyful, amazing, incredible, truly charitable, giving back to the community way of living. Rushing, But Going Nowhere
While driving the other day I noticed a car way behind me, swerving in and out of traffic, passing everyone in a hurried way, apparently without time to even use his turn signals. He zoomed right up behind me, so close I couldn’t even see his bumper in my rear-view mirror, and proceeded to rocket past in the left lane and quickly accelerated into the distance.
