THE MOVING BUBBLE – A Simple Lesson in Staying with my Movements and Claiming Who I Am

I recently attended a Universal Medicine Saturday event where I discovered the impact our movements have on our body and all that surrounds us. I could understand the impact on people, but this time around I began to realise that our surroundings include our relationships with each and every object we come into contact with, and this is of equal importance.

It made me stop to review how often I would move in a hurry or constantly move in the zone of wanting to get from A to B, not taking into consideration the speed in which I would place my plate on the table, how I would open and shut doors or the simplicity of plugging a cord into a socket, all of which are movements that impact on each and every one of us. Conscious Presence while Cleaning our House

Not so long ago I was involved in a big house clean. For context, I live in UniMed Brisbane’s heritage listed stately home (usually called a Queenslander), which basically means it is a 2 story dwelling, made from timber, that has large balconies that surround the majority of the home. It is a large building covering around 1000m2 of living area, including over 10 rooms and is all white, so invariably twice a year requires a clean as part of its upkeep.

A Study on Commitment and Energy

Lately I have made an in-depth study on what commitment truly is. Last year somebody shared with me that they felt I was completely withdrawn from life – not committing to life in full.

At first I resisted: “Who me? I have started up several companies, been successful in my career, have many friends, I was on television, radio, wrote columns in newspapers. How can you call me withdrawn from life?” But in truth I was. It took some weeks to fully admit this unpleasant truth. Continue reading “A Study on Commitment and Energy”

A Race Against Time

I experienced something very profound today and it has been inspired by Serge Benhayon’s book Time. I had started a typing job on my computer and knowing that I tend to rush these ‘uninteresting and boring’ tasks, I decided to be very conscious not to speed up but to stay present with me and in what I was doing and feeling, rather than just getting the job done, no matter what. The Absent Landlord

I was on my walk this morning and there was this moment where I caught myself thinking about an email I needed to send first thing when I got home. Sound familiar? It might sound familiar and seem even normal, but is it really? Continue reading “The Absent Landlord”

Beliefs V Truths

Recently I have been pondering a lot on the subject of beliefs. I have come to the startling realisation that for most of my life I have held beliefs in most categories of life, and that those beliefs have governed the way that I have lived.

I know that I have not recalled all of my beliefs because there are hundreds of them, many are obvious but many are very subtle and more hidden: they have all influenced my life in some way. Continue reading “Beliefs V Truths”
