The Power of Rest

We all have an extraordinary ability to keep going, work hard, stay on our feet and keep at it. This is great and something to appreciate. I wonder though whether we have lost sight of what is needed to sustain this and stay well whilst we commit to life and work.

Taking one aspect of self-care and really exploring our relationship with it can be very revealing. For example, rest is something I have had to have a really close look at and would say that for most of my life I have believed it to be a necessity that needs minimal attention or care beyond which it becomes an indulgence. Being an Individual or a Life of Love?

I was very much focussed on being exclusively individual before I came to study and be a student of Universal Medicine. All I cared about was myself. I wasted money while not caring about anyone else. Now my life has completely turned around to one that is re-learning to be a life of love; one that is developing to be deeply loving, deeply caring of myself and humanity… a truly joyful, amazing, incredible, truly charitable, giving back to the community way of living. Rushing, But Going Nowhere

While driving the other day I noticed a car way behind me, swerving in and out of traffic, passing everyone in a hurried way, apparently without time to even use his turn signals. He zoomed right up behind me, so close I couldn’t even see his bumper in my rear-view mirror, and proceeded to rocket past in the left lane and quickly accelerated into the distance. The Space in Silence

I have recently been experiencing quite a free-flowing expression with my writing: without any effort, the words just seem to come out of me when I sit still and allow it. So, it was with a bit of surprise that I found myself sitting here with nothing really coming through me to share.

With a healthy dose of irony, I then began to really appreciate just how beautiful it was to simply sit here and enjoy the silence and spacious potential of the moment, without knowing what was coming next or holding onto any picture or expectation of what I should or should not be doing. This then led to what you now are reading. Continue reading “The Space in Silence”

No Reason to Fight

What if life did not have to be a struggle, but could instead flow in a harmonious way without the usual fight for survival against all the things we feel are not right in the world?

I recently came to the above conclusion after what felt like lifetimes of fighting all those aspects of society that seemed corrupt, cruel and abusive in any way and trying to save everyone that I felt was calling out for help. Having always been the one to be in reaction to things like parents yelling at their kids in the grocery store or calling out a manager at work for speaking in an abusive and disrespectful way, I took it upon myself to be the ‘warrior of truth.’ It felt like it was my responsibility to save other people from the cruelty of the world and fix all their problems as if they were my responsibility. Walk with Joy

I was feeling a little irritable whilst walking to work one morning, which felt very unusual for me, as usually of late I have been feeling much joy as I walk.

Since being introduced to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine my life has completely changed. I am more committed to life, my relationships, my work and most importantly, myself. Continue reading “Walk with Joy”
