Over the past few days, a number of articles have been posted by the Sydney Morning Herald and other smaller newspapers accusing Universal Medicine of being a cult, followed by further accusations about its so called followers, and the fact that they refer to their “cult leader” as the one. The original article in the Sun Herald based much of its findings on the reports of a small hand-full of disgruntled people, and made further claims through insinuation that Serge Benhayon was a money making relationship destroying cult leader.

My experience is that this is a complete and utter fabrication and total misrepresentation of the truth. I have been attending lectures presented by Universal Medicine for over six years now, and feel I am therefore in a position of some authority to comment on the many mis-truths that have been presented in these articles based on my first hand experience.  Continue reading “Universal Medicine – CULT? … I Don’t See How” →

There was a time in history… and not so long ago when the printed newspaper stood for something unique and virtuous, something steeped in integrity, a medium that carried real merit through the hard work and talent of dedicated people genuinely seeking to accountably report the truth in the most objective way possible and wherever necessary expose the lies – a truly grand and noble service to the public.

So where have those ‘Times’ gone?

Perhaps the slander and lies like those found in various articles of late, making blatantly false allegations about Serge Benhayon, his family and Universal Medicine are rooted in the bitterness that the modern newspaper has long reached its zenith and is now on the steady decline leaving a desperation so charged that it has turned reporters into scurrilous fabricators of the pen. I understand that certain allegations have been made about Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine (UniMed), in particular claiming that Serge and the practitioners associated with Universal Medicine are in opposition or competition with conventional medical practitioners. This completely contradicts my experience as a cancer patient over the past year since my diagnosis in early June 2011 and in my association with Serge and Universal Medicine since early August 2011. During this past year I have had continuous treatment medically and also since early August, weekly sessions with Serge or other Universal Medicine practitioners. I am grateful to both my conventional and complementary practitioners for the caring support that I have received.

It’s interesting to read the words ‘cult‘ and ‘cult leader’ in relation to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. Until recent blog postings by a few detractors, I have not once in my 5+ year association with Serge and Universal Medicine considered myself a ‘cult member’. I have been free to come and go from events and workshops as I please, and free to make up my own mind as to whether I take what Serge presents on board or not. He has neither been the cause of any relationship breakdown (in fact, I have since re-married, and very happily so, in that time) nor separated from my family of origin, whom I love very much. I am aware of the allegations against Universal Medicine (UniMed) and quite frankly I am in absolute disbelief as my personal experience has been quite the opposite of all that is being said.

I first came across Universal Medicine and the work of Serge Benhayon eight years ago. At that time I had been through several life threatening illnesses and was suffering undiagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder after the Thredbo landslide which occurred across the road from where I was then living. I knew that there had to be another way to live that was more loving and joy-full, and that I was so far away from that despite all my worldly successes and the thrills of my recreational sports. What a missed opportunity for you, Louis and staff reporters. I feel if you had read and not just copied the other articles from previous days’ papers, but had taken the time to read all the comments and replies to them, you may have felt to write a completely different piece. Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine are all about responsibility and integrity. Is it not true that it is also the media’s responsibility to offer the same level  of responsibility and integrity?
